RAYE – "Oscar winning Tears"- due to her achievements!

 

Raye is on the global rise after crushing the 2024 Brit Award, as she shattered past records which led to the accumulation of victories. Raye successfully completed the night with the triumph of six awards including the best artist, it’s easy to say that she is well on the way to becoming a musical phenomenon.

 

The lively evening, celebrated Raye uplifting her as an artist and showcased her outstanding musical talent, clearly displayed through her impressive collection of awards: Best Album, Artist, Song, and Songwriter of the Year, as well as Best New Artist but also the R&B Act. A particularly wholesome moment was when Raye brought her grandmother on stage to accept the Album of the Year award; this not only moved the audience but bought Raye to tears making the award just a little bit more extra special.

 

Not only has Raye’s resilience and creativity elevated her as an artist but it has allowed her to achieve a chart-topping hit 'Escapism,' which won the category Song of the Year but it also reached platinum in both the UK and the US. This accomplishment helped Raye to dominate the Brit Awards as she will go down in history for smashing the previous records, held by other prominent musicians such as: Harry Styles, Adele and Blur.

 

Nonetheless, the event was even more significant as it marked a notable departure from the previous male-dominant line-ups as it witnessed an important shift. This is noteworthy as 70% of the winning performers were female or non-binary which spotlights an inclusive and a more varied range of representatives within the music industry.

 

Raye further confirmed the passion she has for her music which is driving and defining her journey. She stated that she is "so proud of this album, I'm in love with music - all I ever wanted to do was be an artist". Raye took a successful turn after breaking free from label limitations with the release of 'My 21st Century Blues’ and this devotion from Raye electrified the meaning of the album. Sparking a global interest, accumulating glowing reviews and a nomination for the desired Mercury-Prize.
