About BMO Field
BMO Field is at 170 Princes' Blvd, Toronto, ON M6K 3C3. It opened in 2007 as home to Toronto FC and has hosted the Toronto Argonauts since 2016. Current capacity is around 30,000, but temporary seating will expand it to approximately 45,000 for the World Cup.
The stadium is one of 12 venues for the 2026 World Cup and will host six matches across group and knockout stages.
How to get there
GO Transit is the most straightforward option. Exhibition GO Station is a two-to-five minute walk from the stadium and connects to Union Station via the Lakeshore GO line.
TTC streetcars serve the area too. The 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst routes both stop within walking distance. If you're driving, use the Gardiner Expressway or Lake Shore Boulevard, but expect heavy congestion on matchday. Parking fills up fast.
For Canada's World Cup opener, arrive at least 90 minutes early if you're using public transit, longer if you're driving.
What to expect on the day
The BMO Field ticket office at Gate 1 opens on event days for pick-ups and enquiries. Canada's opening match will draw a large crowd, so expect long queues at entry points. Bring valid photo ID and have your ticket—digital or physical—ready before you join the queue.
Form and head to head
Canada drew 0-0 with Tunisia and 2-2 with Iceland in March 2026 friendlies, and beat Guatemala 1-0 in January 2026. Bosnia & Herzegovina qualified through the UEFA play-offs, beating Wales 1-1 on aggregate in the semi-final and drawing 1-1 with Italy in the final (going through on away goals or penalties). They also beat Romania 3-1 in November 2025.
The two sides have no previous competitive record against each other, so this will be their first meeting.
