Manchester United 1878 Hospitality Guide (Old Trafford)

The 1878 is the creme de la creme of hospitality suites, at Old Trafford. Located in the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand, the suite provides an opulent five course dining experience, an all-inclusive bar, and premium armchair seats near the halfway line often described as the best view to watch a Man Utd game. Built for exclusivity, it is often booked for business entertainment, special occasions, and premium matchday experiences.

Manchester United 1878 Hospitality Tickets at Old Trafford

You enter through Stadium Entrance B4, where you're greeted with a private elevator to the executive suite.

Doors open three hours before kick-off, giving you time to enjoy pre-match drinks and the facilities ahead of kick-off.

Tickets use NFC technology, these are downloaded to your Apple wallet or Google wallet before matchday. On matchday, open your phone wallet, select your ticket and tap the back of your phone on the scanner at the entrance. This works the same way as a contactless payment.

To download your ticket:

1. Open the MUFC app.
2. Log in with the details you used to purchase your hospitality.
3. Select 'My United', then 'My Tickets'.
4. Add your ticket to your Apple wallet or Google wallet.

Android users: Switch NFC on in your phone settings before matchday. If you use a Samsung device, set Google wallet as your default wallet. 

Go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Tap & Pay.

If your ticket shows the message "This is an NFC ticket" or "Turn on NFC", your settings are not switched on. If your ticket shows a contactless NFC icon, your ticket is ready to scan.

You can share tickets with guests inside the MU app. Guests can download their own tickets and enter the stadium independently. Video guides are available on the Manchester United website.

The dress code is smart-casual. Do not wear away team colours, offensive t-shirts, tracksuits, or shorts. This rule does not apply to children under 12. The club has the right to refuse entry to any person wearing attire that is not appropriate.

The 1878 Experience

The 1878 experience follows an opulent experience throughout matchday.

On arrival: You receive champagne and canapés which leads to a private dining area for a five-course menu. The bar is fully inclusive and includes premium spirits, champagne, and sommelier-selected wine for you and your guests to enjoy. A sample menu is available to view on the Manchester United website before each fixture so you can plan your trip and food choices accordingly.

15 minutes before kick-off: You leave the suite and move to your seat. You're presented with the best seats in the stadium, a luxury padded armchair near the halfway line offering fantastic views of the entire pitch and the match itself.

At half-time: You return to the 1878 suite for half-time snacks and refreshments.

After full-time: Your experience continues for two hours after the final whistle for more refreshments in the suite.
